IPL, Intense Pulsed Light, is the latest technology which has been cleared by the FDA for permanent hair reduction for men and women. Unlike traditional lasers which use a single wavelength, IPL is a light based technology which uses a broad spectrum of wavelengths to create a personalized system which directly targets dark pigments in hair follicles. The light energy emitted from the machine turns to heat energy which travels to the root (dermal papillae) of the anagen hair; thus, disabling the hair from further growth and delivering longer lasting results.
IPL Hair Reduction is less painful than traditional laser systems and does not emit any radiation. IPL Hair Reduction has best results on coarse dark hair sprouting from light skin and has been shown to reduce 20-80% of hair growth.
IPL is safer and gentler on more skin types (up to a skin type IV) than some traditional lasers used for permanent hair reduction; especially on larger areas, such as legs, back, shoulders and bikini. Your skin will look and feel smoother and silkier.

Pre-Treatment Instructions:
| • We ask that you shave the treatment area on the morning of your scheduled appointment. Please make sure the area is smooth and there is no hair on the surface of the skin. If there is any hair on the surface of the skin, it can cause the machine to mistake it for pigment and can cause some discomfort. **Note: if you have recently waxed the area, you will need to wait at least 2 full growth cycles for the hair to grow out. ** |
• Please do not wear any lotions or deodorants in the treatment area, as it can alter the condition of your skin. |
• Please do not wear black clothing or undergarments in the treatment area as they can leave lint and can cause the machine to mistake it for pigment and can cause some discomfort. |
• Please do not use any anesthetic or numbing cream in the treatment area as it can affect the condition and color of your skin and can alter the treatment process. We use a cooling gel and a cool tip to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. |
• Please make sure to avoid sun exposure in the area for at least 2 weeks before and after all treatments. Please refrain from using sunless tanners as it can alter the color of your skin. Please make sure to use SPF 30 at all times. Sun exposure can lead to pigmentation of the area and can alter the efficacy of your treatment process. |
• Please follow all post-care instructions which will be explained to you during your appointment. |
